Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary
Story
Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary was founded in 2014 to give farmed animals a refuge from cruelty, neglect and abandonment. Set on 100 acres in the Wollombi Valley, near Laguna in the lower Hunter, it is now home to more than 200 rescued animals, including cows, pigs, horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, alpacas, ducks, hens and turkeys.
Many residents have lived there for years. Valentine, a cow rescued from a dairy farm at three days old in 2015, is one of the sanctuary’s long-term residents.
The sanctuary is a registered charity that combines lifelong care with education and advocacy. Visitors join small guided tours, where animals choose whether to interact with them.
